Year 6 - Mrs Miller

  • PE

We will be doing PE on a Monday and a Wednesday. Please ensure that all children have a full PE kit for every lesson: this includes a white T-shirt, navy or black shorts and PE shoes. During the summer months, trainers are allowed when PE takes place outside. For the safety of all pupils, jewellery must be removed- stud earrings (that cannot be removed) must be covered with tape.

    Supporting Local Charities

Our class have been working hard since September to raise money for Alice House Hospice. The children came up with a range of ideas to try to raise money and decided that we would start by doing a non-uniform day. Some children wrote the letter to send home to parents and carers and others went to collect and count all of the donations. We have raised £220.10 so far!

    • Reading books will be sent home daily and children are expected to read at least three times a week for a minimum of ten minutes. Bug Club is also available to access at home- usernames and passwords are recorded in children’s home reading records.
    • Children are encouraged to learn the times tables that they are working on each week. They will be tested on these on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings and questions will include both multiplication questions (4 X 8=32 ) and corresponding division facts (32 divided by 8 =4 ). All children have access to the Rock Star Times Table website which can be used to help them learn their tables; their username and password can be found in the front of their home reading record.
    • Spellings will be sent home on a Monday and children will be tested on these on the following Monday. It is essential that time is set aside for them to learn these spellings over the course of the week.
