    Year 5 Long Term Planning

This term we are learning about…

  • P.E

We have P.E on Mondays and Fridays this term
Please make sure your child has a full P.E kit in school. This includes: white t-shirt, black shorts and P.E plimsolls. Trainers can be worn when P.E takes place outside. This term’s P.E topics are cricket and athletics.
  • Reading

Reading books will be sent home daily and we encourage children to read at home at least twice a week. Please make sure reading records are signed so children receive their well-deserved reading awards!
Books are changed once a week. Bug Club is also available for more reading opportunities.

  • The expectation in Year 5 is that children manage their own learning at home.
Children now receive one piece of English and maths homework every Friday to be completed by the following Thursday.
They are encouraged to use Times Tables Rockstars and Bug Club to practise times tables and reading skills.
Children have a list of spellings. Please encourage your child to practise these spellings as often as they can in their spelling jotter.
