Year 5 - Miss Allen

  • Hello everybody and welcome to Year 5!

We have been back in school for eight weeks now and I am so impressed with how Year 5 have settled back into school. Thank you for coming to school every day with a smile on your face and with a passion for learning. Let’s keep up the hard work in Autumn 2! Remember to check this page and See Saw for updates to our learning, especially if you need to spend some time learning from home.

    Love from Miss Allen

    We come to school to

Dream Big, Aim High and Shine Bright!

  • P.E

This term we have P.E on Mondays and Tuesdays
Please make sure your child has a full P.E kit in school. This includes: white or grey t-shirt, navy or black shorts (jogging bottoms and leggings are acceptable for the winter) and P.E plimsolls or trainers. This term’s P.E topics are gymnastics and athletics skills.

  • Reading

Reading books will be sent home daily and we encourage children to read at home as often as possible.  Please make sure reading records are signed so children receive their well-deserved reading awards!

  • The expectation in Year 5 is that children manage their own learning at home.
Children are expected to read their book and practise weekly spellings. The hard work children put in at home can make a huge difference to their progress in school. Spelling Shed and Times Table Rock Stars are online portals that will support
your children with their spelling and times table skills. Log in details can be found in the front of their reading records. Children can take paper copies home as an alternative.
