Year 5 - Miss Allen

  • Hi Year 5!

Although it’s been a strange Easter holiday, I hope you have all enjoyed spending time with your family and hopefully enjoyed some sunshine in your garden or on your daily walk! I have posted a video on Seesaw with lots of information about our home learning over the next few weeks. Please remember to check into Seesaw to find daily challenges and activities set to keep you busy! It would be fantastic if you could post notes/send photos of your fantastic work for me to look at and share with the rest of the pupils in our class. Your Seesaw login was sent home in your work pack.  Below you will also find a list of useful websites to support your learning at home. Remember, learning can take place anywhere so why not try some baking, gardening, exploring, reading as a family or completing Joe Wicks’ P.E workouts while you are at home?

Keep smiling and I look forward to seeing you all soon. Love from Miss Allen.

    We come to school to

Dream Big, Aim High and Shine Bright!

  • P.E

This term we have P.E on Monday and Thursday afternoons.
Please make sure your child has a full P.E kit in school. This includes: white or grey t-shirt, navy or black shorts (jogging bottoms and leggings are acceptable for the winter) and P.E plimsolls or trainers. This term’s P.E topics are tag rugby and sport leaders.

  • Reading

Reading books will be sent home daily and we encourage children to read at home as often as possible.  Please make sure reading records are signed so children receive their well-deserved reading awards!

  • The expectation in Year 5 is that children manage their own learning at home.
Children are expected to read their book and practise weekly spellings. The hard work children put in at home can make a huge difference to their progress in school. Spelling Shed and Times Table Rock Stars are online portals that will support
your children with their spelling and times table skills. Log in details can be found in the front of their reading records. Children can take paper copies home as an alternative.
