  • Autumn 2 Begins

The last few months have been a challenge for us all in all kinds of different ways! I have been so proud of how the children have managed with returning to school and engaging with their learning.

With a second national lock down now in place, we are pleased to be continuing with our learning in school and will be taking every precaution, following our risk assessment, in order to keep us all safe.

Always remember- be happy, be kind and most importantly, be YOU!

    Autumn 2 Spellings

This terms spellings have been sent home to practise.

If you ever miss place them, feel free to ask for another copy or you can find them below!

  • P.E.

In line with current guidance, P.E. will take place outdoors in most weathers.
Children are encouraged to bring warm clothing (such as plain leggings/joggers and a plain jumper/hoody) as part of their P.E kit to help facilitate this.
This term children in Y4 will be doing P.E. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

  • Home Learning – The fun doesn’t have to stop when you leave us!

The benefits of reading are endless! We encourage children to practise their reading at home (with both their school reading book and any other text they wish to read) and ask that you sign in their home reading record any time they have read at home, at least once weekly.

At the beginning of each half term, the children will receive a spelling grid which outlines the spelling patterns they will be taught over the coming weeks. We ask that children practise these as regularly as possible in preparation for their weekly spelling test.

Finally, to further enhance their home learning experience, your child will be given login details to Times Tables Rock Stars and Spelling Shed websites – the details can be found in the front of their home reading records.

    Have fun learning at home!

  • Hydrate!

Can we please remind you that in order for your children to reach their true potential,  it is essential that they have a water bottle in school at all times. Their brains are 75% water so it is important that they can access a drink of water throughout the school day. Unfortunately, there is limited capacity within school to provide children with cups etc, but water bottles are on sale at the finance office for £1.50. Alternatively, a clear plastic bottle, clearly labelled with your child’s name, would be sufficient. We thank you for your continued cooperation.
