Sports Performance Programme

  • The aim of the Sports Performance Programme is to help our children reach their full sporting potential and encourage them to lead a healthy and active lifestyle. Following a series of trials and a letter of application, 20 pupils have been enrolled onto the programme for 2016-17 academic year. These pupils will attend after-school coaching sessions and also represent the school at cluster and town competitions.  Within curriculum PE lessons, the SPP children will also be Sports Leaders demonstrating skills, leading activities and organising games.

Committment and dedication is a key aspect to being successful in sport.  Attendance at coaching and training sessions is compulsory; if for any reason a child cannot attend then a note will be required. Failure to attend may result in a child losing their place on the programme.

There will be other opportunities throughout the year for all of our youngsters to take part in sporting activities and competitions; not just the children enrolled at the beginning of the year. By displaying our school values such as passion and determination in PE lessons, more pupils may be added to the programme.
