We aim to provide a high quality education for all children and a secure foundation for learning in an encouraging and nurturing environment where we work in partnership with parents and carers.

Children will experience a broad and balanced curriculum in which pupils will experience fun, enjoyment and an element of challenge.

Our three school rules of ready, respectful, safe underpin our values and are embedded in all that we do.

Our topic during Summer 2 is Growing

    LTP for Nursery 2019

Each week we are going to read a different story, uploaded on to Tapestry and our Facebook group. Along side our stories for this topic we are going to upload an ‘Activity Menu’ based around the stories. Please feel free to pick and choose activities from the ‘menu’ that you and your child would like to complete.
Paper copies of these ‘menu’s are available in our school reception if you would prefer a hard copy. It would be lovely to see any photos that you take, whether these are linked to our topic or something else that you do at home.
Here is our first ‘activity menu’ based on the book ‘ How to grow a sunflower’.

  • Just for now…..

During these strange times, some of us need a little structure to help us in our daily routines. Especially our little ones, when they have to stay in or when there are changes to their usual routines. Take a look at these for some ideas, hope they help!

We visit the library bus once a fortnight. Children are given the opportunity to choose their own book which can be taken home to be shared with family.

Books must be returned each fortnight.

     Getting Messy!

Sometimes in Nursery we may come home a little messy and this is for a reason!

Messy play is extremely important for a child’s development. It provides children with an exciting tactile and sensory experience that inspires their curiosity, allows them to explore the world around them and enhances their learning, language and creativity.

Children will participate in PE on a variety of occasions.

Children do not need a PE kit in Nursery.

    and Self Care

Children will need to remove their socks/tights and shoes to participate in PE- children love to try and be independent in their self-care skills!

It is advisable for children to wear shoes and socks or tights that they can try to remove and then put back on themselves.

  • Tapestry

In Early Years we record all children’s achievements on Tapestry, an online learning journal.
Through this website/app you can see pictures and videos of all the things that your child gets up to whilst in school.
You can also upload things from home too-from an excellent attempt at riding a bike to a day out at the park!
Look for the logo above when downloading the app to your phone or tablet.

If you are having problems, speak to any EY’s staff member-we are happy to help!

    Fun at Nursery!
